Classes

Location: Virtual. This class is the skills check required to complete your blended learning training. It is only available to those who have paid and completed part 1 (e-learning) of the "Standard First Aid, CPR/AED Blended Learning" course.  Participants will complete their skills via live video conferencing in approximately one hour with an instructor.  High speed internet, webcam, and microphone are required. The skills covered are adult, child, and Infant CPR, AED, choking care, bleeding control, splinting, use of epinephrine auto injectors, and Naloxone administration. Approximately 48 hours before the class you will receive an email with the login access and small list of household items needed to complete the skills.  You must login 10 minutes before the start of the course. Location: Virtual. Select Girl Scout events require additional first aid support to ensure the safety of all attending. The Level 2 First Aid course addresses concerns about planning an event and providing emergency care when access to emergency care will be > 30 minutes away, or when a Safety Activity Checkpoint indicates that a Level 2 First Aider is required. This course is approximately 90 minutes. Final instructions and login access will be provided 72 hours before the class date. Participants must have current certification in standard first aid, CPR and AED to take Level 2 first aid. The course begins promptly at its’ scheduled time. The course covers sitter skills including diapering, feeding, hygiene, safety/injury prevention, basics of first aid, choking, and CPR. There are 13 skill stations that keep participants actively engaged. We ask that participants please bring a baby doll or stuffed animal (e.g. Teddy bear) for use with select skills. Participants receive certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). An email with final logistics will arrive approximately 48 hours before the start of the course. There are no refunds once registration is completed. Any cancellations or no-shows will be assessed a $25 re-registration fee for a future class.
